Beau's Second Birthday!

Well, today is the day. Two years ago, our lives changed in ways we couldn't even imagine. Beau has surprised us all and we are so greatful to have him as a part of our family. He brings us so much joy and laughter everyday. Tom and I love sharing all the new experiences we each have with him, swapping stories about the funny or new things Beau has done that day. We also celebrate our Sydney's birthday today too. We miss her and think about her everyday.
Tom has been lucky enough to be able to stay home with Beau this week. Mamo is on vacation and mommy still has to work. But, Beau and daddy are having fun together. Playing with monster trucks and listening to music, Beau loves music!! We might have a musician in the family!!
We had a birthday party this past weekend, lots of food, fun and kids. We had a big waterslide for the bigger kids and a pool for the little ones. Beau really enjoyed his cake this year and loved having so many kids around to play with. We are so greatful to be surrounded by such great friends and family. Beau got a ride-on Tow-Mater, from Cars, and Dylan loved it so much and had a hard time letting go. We actually had to shake him off of it!

Little late

Well, although Memorial Day has come and gone, I thought I would post some of our events anyway. We had a GREAT weekend. Our friends, the Kendricks, came up from Norfolk with their son Dylan. We spent Saturday at Luray Caverns up near Skyline drive. It was great. We got there right before the crowd. But boy have things changed up there since my 4th grade field trip! I never knew how popular they were or just how many people a cavern can hold!! But we all enjoyed the sights and wonder of such a neat place. On the way home, we stopped for icecream and to shop at the vendors along the road. I found a great white rocking chair for the front porch, which I have been waiting patiently for. But we got a good deal on it. On Sunday we went fishing at a riverbank which runs along the backside of our neighborhood. Tom was the only successful fisherman, but Dylan got the prize of the day, a baby painted turtle. Beau had a nice nap in mommy's lap. Afterwards, we went to the neighborhood pool, which some regretted after we felt the water!! Burr, cold. We wished the weekend could last longer, but our friends had to leave and we had to get back to reality.

rain, rain go away

The Sargent Family is ready for summer, even if the weather is not!! It has been raining here for about three days. While we love the rain, we are ready for some sunshine. We had a great past weekend. Friday night we met up with some friends of ours, the Cashins, they have three adorable boys, and went to an outdoor concert. We met up and had some pizza, yummy! (which Beau also enjoyed, one of the foods he likes) Then we went over to the concert to see the Wailers, as in Bob Marley and the Wailers, minus Bob. It was perfect. What a great night to be out and enjoy the warm weather and listen to music. All the boys enjoyed themselves and even got a little dirty. Beau was dancing and clapping his hands. He really liked the live band and didn't seem to mind how loud it was. Mommy loved the music, one of her favoriate bands. Just wished it could have lasted longer.
We are gearing up for Nikki's big weekend. Mamo(grandma) (aka seamstress extrodinare) tailored Beau's pants and bow tie. Can't wait to post that picture!! Just waiting for the big day!! Beau will be a ring bearer, but he won't really be holding it because it would probably just throw it anyway. We are hoping he will just stay in the wagon. We'll see!! Wish us luck.

This week, Beau and mommy are on their own. Daddy is in sunny, hot Califorina. Working hard in the heat. They are having a big heat wave and Tom is enjoying the pool after a long day at work. Beau and mommy have been going to work and grandmas house. We are getting ready for a weddding that both of us will be in soon. My long time friend, Nikki Seay is getting married May 9th and I am the Matron of Honor and Beau is one of the ring bearers. It is tough trying to find a tux for a baby!! We compromised with a tux vest instead, but of course he will be cute in anything.
Beau had physical therapy today. He doesn't really like when Pam(his PT) makes him do things he doesn't like. We are working on his core muscles trying to work his abs!! But, I'm happy to say that he is eating much better!! Mac and cheese tonight, yummy. And we are making big progress on his patty-cake!! He has had a rough time clapping and bringing his hands together, but doing much better, almost have it!

Easter 2009

I know Easter was last weekend, but that is about how late I am anyway. We all had a nice day. Beau and I went to church with Mamo and then we all went over to the Swords (Aimee's) for a cookout and an egg hunt. The older kids had a blast and we soo excited about the egg hunt. Beau could have cared less. He just wanted to be outside!! He loves being outside even if its to cold or even wet. He is all boy and even tried chewing on a stick! He and Daddy like to mow the lawn and end up spending twice the time it takes because daddy is very careful while Beau is helping. I have finally planted my flowers and now it seems a little more like spring.
We as a family are walking in the March of Dimes walk in downtown Fredericksburg in memory of Sydney. We haven't been able to raise to much money this year for the foundation, but every little bit helps. Hopefully as Beau gets older, he will understand why it is important, but for now, he gets to to enjoy a nice walk with mommy and daddy.

Middle of the week

Hey everyone, I am sorry, like I said, I am not the best at this. It is Tuesday night and we are just winding down. Beau is sleeping, finally. He has had a rough couple weeks. He has been teething and was running a high fever most days. He is working on 5 teeth at once, when he sets his mind :) So, we have had to deal with a little boy who is very cranky and out of his personality for a while. He is still not walking yet, but we are working on his standing with his shoes and seems to get better slowly. Patience is so hard sometimes, especially when you want your baby to succeed and knowing that you can't do it for them.
Tom had been gone most of this month for about 2 and half weeks. But we are lucky to have him back. It's kinda nice actually cooking for someone and not just eating a bowl of cereal for dinner.
We enjoyed a nice weekend having Brandy (richardstink!) down with her daughter Laney. We went to Carly's first t-ball game. It was funny to watch these little guys just learning the game trying to figure out where they were suppose to stand and when and where to run after they hit the ball!! I think the funniest part was watching the entire team stampede to get to the ball after a hit, just because they all wanted to get to play!! Exciting to see what we have to look forward to!

The beginning...

Well, here we go. I decided to start this little thing because so many of my friends had one and, I thought what a great idea to be able to share what is going on here at the Sargent household without always sending out a massive email. And what a great idea to be able to keep a "journal" of our family as we grow. I also wanted to be able to keep everyone posted on Beau's progress and all the joy and happiness he brings into our lives each day. I hope you all keep checking back in, I am not the best at writing everyday, but I will try at least a couple times a week. So, keep checking for new posts and pics!!
